What Historical Fiction Can Teach Us
Sunday May 26, 2024 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Room 350DE
History through fiction is a powerful teacher. Alternate history asks, "What if it didn't happen this way?" Some add magic; some add a change in the timeline; some bring in a time traveler. Historical fiction uses accurate settings and adds their own characters to live within those boundaries. The real question is why do we feel compelled to explore our past through fiction? What can we learn about ourselves? What are we trying to heal? Join panelists Kelly Lynn Colby, Ammar Habib, Beth Anderson, Mack Little, and K.M. Tolan.
